The Welcome Keynote
The keynote ballroom entrance had a Borland sign, and multiple screens with the confernece logo (also showing people on stage for those far away)
An Inprise logo was crashed by a guy in a gorilla suit, at the sound of "2001 Space Odissey" (if I remember well)
A larger Borland logo appeared in the back, with the gorilla enjoying...
Out of the gorilla suit emerged David I (head of Borland Developer's Relations and Conference Host). A Dale 9000 "perfect" computer strted chatting...
And then Dale Fuller (Borland CEO) emerged and gave a speach on Borland's past, present, and future. This included a "current" technology showcase, whcih involved the head of each of the Borland business units.

Than it was "prize time" for the best trainer (Pillar Technologies' Eric Whipple), and honored Borland employee (actually the "President's Award for Outstanding Achievement"). The two employee who got the prize in the past (Chuck J and David I)...
...were joined by the new winner, Blake Stone (JBuilder chief scientist and chief architect). Then it was time for attendees to compete in the Borland's Buttons Bash.
