Borland Conference 2002 - Anaheim (CA)
Monday, May 20th
The (Boring) Delphi Today Product Address
They told us what Delphi 6 can do... but we knew it in advance...
Anders Hejlsberg Keynote
This is the man who (before Delphi) wrote Turbo Pascal, so he helped Borland to start. He showed the first ever Borland ad in Byte
And now is the architect of .NET in Microsoft
Showing how you'll be able to use Delphi to write a native .NET Web Service
And how to write an ASP.NET app in Delphi.NET (well, sometime in the future). Notice he actually typed the Delphi code and compiled it within ASP...
And finally announced the future Delphi.NET IDe and project, codenamed Galileo. Odd that a Microsoft employee announced a future Borland product, the two companies seem pretty close nowadays...
Mark Miller's (not that fun) Dark Site plus Mark at his booth
Mark put a lot of effort in his Dark Side talk, and the video game was cool... but many things did not work. Here you can see him with a "paper David I"
And here is Mark showcasing his products earlier that day...
Meet the Delphi Team
A conference classic
Mark Miller got the Spirit of Delphi award. Well deserved (said by one who won it a few years back)
